Upon arrival at Venice airport, you are greeted by the driver, holding your group name on a signboard, and assisted with a short land transfer to the water taxi dock. From there, a private water taxi will take you directly to your hotel, offering a scenic introduction to the enchanting canals of Venice. After breakfast, you shall meet your guide at the reception for a walking tour of Venice, starting along Riva degli Schiavoni. You will pass by Hotel Londra, where P.I. Tchaikovsky spent his Venetian days seeking inspiration. The tour continues to the Palazzo Ducale, famously connected to the Ponte dei Sospiri, also known as the "Bridge of Sighs," which leads to the dungeon. The Ponte dei Sospiri offered many prisoners their last glimpse of freedom before imprisonment. A visit to the interior of the Doge’s Palace is an absolute must when in Venice, as this glittering residence received treasures from the Mediterranean and conquered territories for over 500 years. After leaving the Palace, your attention will be drawn to the Zeccha, or the Mint, where Venetian ducats were once minted, and to the famous Piazza San Marco, home to the magnificent Basilica di San Marco. Your tour continues through the narrow streets of Venice towards the iconic Ponte Rialto, the oldest bridge still standing in Venice. This celebrated structure, adorned with goldsmith shops and bustling with authentic and imitation garment sellers, proudly arches over the Canal Grande, Venice's main waterway. This day is reserved for a full-day tour, starting with a visit to Motovun, a charming hilltop town surrounded by vineyards. After exploring Motovun, you'll embark on a truffle hunt with a three-generation truffle-hunting family, followed by a 4-course meal centered around truffles. Upon arriving at the truffle hunt site, you'll be welcomed with two different homemade brandies. After a brief introduction to the family’s history and the tradition of truffle hunting, you'll join the hunter and his dogs for the truffle hunt. The adventure takes place in privately owned woods, just a 5-minute walk from the family’s home. While searching the woods for truffles, you’ll experience the excitement and joy of discovering these prized treasures. Everyone will have the chance to feel and smell the freshly unearthed truffles, which will later be used to prepare the delicious truffle dishes you'll enjoy back at the family home. After breakfast and check-out, your driver will take you to Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia’s oldest and most beautiful national park, established in 1949. Here, you'll explore one of nature’s wonders, strolling through sixteen interconnected lakes, breathtaking waterfalls, and caves. This self-guided tour includes a scenic boat ride on one of the lakes, as well as a walk along wooden pathways that hover just above the turquoise waters. After your tour and an optional lunch at one of the local restaurants, your driver will take you to Split, the 1,700-year-old capital of the Dalmatia region. The rest of the day is at your leisure. We recommend enjoying a drink at Vidilica, a scenic viewpoint offering panoramic views of Split and the surrounding area, followed by dinner at one of the restaurants along the West coast of the city harbor, where you can take in stunning views of the city. In the morning, meet your guide in the hotel lobby for the tour of Split and Trogir. Split is one of the living and breathing monuments both to how people lived in the past and to different styles and influences carved into its narrow streets, Roman temples and Christian churches. Outside the palace, the story of Split continues as it spreads from its center, the Palace, to beautiful vistas on the hill of Marjan, to the old town, waterfront promenade RIVA, and its beaches. Trogir is a small island town around 30 km from Split. In the past, the town was a bitter enemy of Split, with wars being waged for the land between the two famous cities. After the Trogir tour, enjoy wine and food pairing experience in Kaštela with one of the local families. You probably know all about the cultivar Crljenak-Zinfandel. DNA fingerprinting revealed that it is genetically equivalent to the “Primitivo” variety traditionally grown in Puglia (the "heel" of Italy), where it was introduced in the 18th century, as well as to the Croatian grapes “Crljenak Kaštelanski.” The grape found its way to the United States in the mid-19th century and became known by variations of the name "Zinfandel", a name of uncertain origin. Now you can visit the place where Zinfandel “was born.” Wine and food pairing takes place in a vineyard with magnificent views. The dishes are made of the freshest ingredients found at the market that day, and the menu shall be at the chef's inspiration. After the tour, the driver will take you back to Split. This morning, your guide will collect you from the hotel for Hvar Island Discovery tour. From there, you'll board a boat to Malostonski Bay, where your host will give a short demonstration on oyster cultivation. Afterward, visit a secluded, family-owned peninsula, where you’ll sample oysters fresh from the farm, accompanied by local olive oil, wine, and rakija. To complete this culinary experience, your host will prepare Buzara sauce, a comforting staple of Dalmatian cuisine, to pair with the oysters. Accompanied by our experienced guide, Dubrovnik's golden age story will unfold before your eyes. The route takes you around the Old Town via Onofrio's Fountain and up Prijeko Street to the Old Port - the key to Dubrovnik's trading and maritime success. Ships from Dubrovnik were known throughout the Mediterranean, and galleons from the Republic could be found in navies across Europe and beyond. These ships were built and loaded in the legendary Arsenal, which is another stop on the tour. Once in the Old Port, your guide will relate the stories of the famous Quarantine and the nearby fortresses of St. Luke and St. John, as well as legends about the Church of St Blaise, the Cathedral, the Rector's Palace, Sponza Palace, and Orlando's Column.
